Alanna Heiss, On Sound, Space, and the City, 2011


Alanna Heiss's interest in sound, space, and the urban environment was directly influenced by her close personal and professional relationship with artist Max Neuhaus. Heiss, founder of MoMA PS1 and the Clocktower Gallery, supported and commissioned Neuhaus's work on several occasions, and her curatorial vision reflects Neuhaus's ideas about auditory perception in unconventional contexts.
