Max Neuhaus participated in the Second Annual New York Avant-Garde Festival, organized by Charlotte Moorman in 1964. Neuhaus's contributions as an avant-garde percussionist fit within the context of the artistic ferment and cross-disciplinary collaboration celebrated in the 2016 exhibition.
