While Neuhaus often worked in outdoor or transit spaces, this 1980 project was specifically designed for the central rotunda of the Conservatory at the Des Moines Art Center. The piece utilized an elaborate electronic system to project sound into the unique acoustics of the rotunda. True to Neuhaus's philosophy, the work was designed to be discovered by visitors as they moved through the space, rather than presented as a scheduled performance.
