In the February 1977 issue of the prestigious Milanese architecture and design magazine Domus (Issue No. 567), Lisa Licitra Ponti published the article "Sound Environments" (Italian title: Ambienti Sonori).
The article is a seminal piece of criticism that introduced Max Neuhaus’s radical transition from percussion to environmental sound design to an international design audience. It was published just as Neuhaus was finalising his most famous work, the Times Square (1977) installation.
