1983 - "Sound In Public Spaces", Giuseppe Panza - Max Neuhaus, Italy

Neuhaus’s primary Italian interlocutor was the renowned collector Giuseppe Panza. In interviews concerning his 1983 work for the Villa Panza (FAI), Neuhaus detailed his "metaperceptual" approach:
The Site: He installed a sound work in the villa’s courtyard, designed to be nearly invisible.
He described the work as a "sound-texture" that redefined the architectural volume of the space. He emphasized that the Italian light and the stillness of the Varese landscape required a sound that "felt like it had always been there."
