On January 22, 1961, the premiere of Robert Moevs's
Concerto for Pianoforte, Orchestra, and Percussion was held at the American Shakespeare Festival Theatre in Stratford, Connecticut. The performance featured pianist Andrew Heath, the Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, and members of the Manhattan School of Music (MSM) Percussion Ensemble, including Max Neuhaus.
