On August 26, 1963, Max Neuhaus participated in "A Concert of New Music" at the Pocket Theater in New York City, a key venue for the early 1960s avant-garde. 

Neuhaus gave a solo performance of Joseph Byrd’s Density II.
Direction: The performance was directed by Philip Corner, a central figure in the Fluxus movement and a frequent collaborator of Neuhaus.
This concert was part of the "Performance Arts at the Pocket Theatre" series, which also included the legendary first full performance of Erik Satie’s Vexations (led by John Cage) just weeks later on September 9, 1963.
