Charlotte Moorman and David Tudor present a concert at 2 Pitt Street (April 15), a loft shared by Philip Corner and dancer and choreographer Beverly Schmidt. They perform works by Earle Brown (Music for Cello and Piano), Joseph Byrd (Loops and Sequences [for Charlotte Moorman]), John Cage (26’ 1.1499” for a String Player, performed in a shortened version as 162.06” for a String Player), Barney Childs, Philip Corner, Morton Feldman, Anton Webern, and La Monte Young (Composition 1960 #13 to Richard Huelsenbeck, the instructions for which are “The performer prepares a composition of his choice and performs it to the best of his abilities”). Byrd, Corner, Jacob Glick, and Max Neuhaus also perform.
