On March 17, 18, and 19, 1967, Max Neuhaus performed a solo series titled "Three Evenings of Music" at the Park Place Gallery in New York City. These performances were significant as they occurred alongside the premiere of Steve Reich’s Four Pianos (also known as Four Organs).
During these evenings, Neuhaus performed and distributed a work titled By-Product (sometimes spelled Bi-Product).
