Erik Satie: Vexations (September 9, 1963)

Neuhaus participated in the American premiere of Erik Satie's Vexations at the Pocket Theater in New York City.
Organized by John Cage, the performance lasted approximately 18 hours and 40 minutes, consisting of 840 repetitions of a short musical motif.
Neuhaus was one of a rotating team of ten "Relay Team" pianists that included John Cage, Christian Wolff, David Tudor, Philip Corner, and James Tenney. While his participation is sometimes noted as "unconfirmed" in secondary bibliographies, the Max Neuhaus Estate explicitly catalogs this as a documented performance vector.

WBAI-FM Interview & Performance (Sept–Oct 1963)
