The 6 Concerts '63" aimed to bridge "uptown" modernist rigour with "downtown" Fluxus energy. Neuhaus was one of the few performers, alongside David Tudor, who could bridge these two worlds. The concerts, which ran on August 20, 21, 27, 28, and September 3, 4, 1963

Max Neuhaus delivered a definitive solo performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Zyklus at Judson Hall (165 West 57th Street), was his first public realization of Zyklus.
