Neuhaus is specifically credited with playing celesta and marimba for this work.
The ensemble was led by Paul Price, Neuhaus’s mentor and a pioneer of percussion education.
The performance was captured on the landmark LP Percussion! (Urania Records, USD 1034), released in 1959. This record also featured works by George Antheil, Carlos Chávez, and Alan Hovhaness.
