In 1983, pioneering sound artist Max Neuhaus presented a solo exhibition titled "Sound Installation" at the David Winton Bell Gallery at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
An "Untitled" site-specific sound installation designed for the gallery space, which measured approximately 8 x 16 x 3 meters.
Like much of Neuhaus's work, the installation treated sound as a sculptural medium intended to alter the listener's perception of the physical environment without using visual cues.
