1961 - Max Neuhaus receives Bachelor’s degree in Music.

In 1961, Max Neuhaus earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.

He studied under the renowned percussionist Paul Price, who was instrumental in shaping Neuhaus's early career as a virtuoso performer of avant-garde music. Following his graduation, Neuhaus continued his studies at the same institution, receiving his Master of Music degree just one year later, in 1962.

This academic foundation provided the technical expertise required for his subsequent world tours with the Contemporary Chamber Ensemble and his celebrated solo interpretations of works by Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez.
